The piano is an intricate piece of engineering that has developed into a work of art. The average piano contains over 200 strings which can apply over 20 tons of pressure on the piano structure itself. These strings are all adjusted separately to bring a piano into tune. There are thousands of individual parts in a piano that when properly serviced, transform the piano from a work of ingenuity into musical beauty.
Ultimately, the piano is made out of wood and is subject to the elements and daily wear and tear. Changes in temperature and humidity affect the wood and components of the piano. Here in southern Ontario, the extreme fluctuation in weather dramatically affects the pitch, tone and feel of the piano. With regular maintenance, you can keep your piano playing music and sounding beautiful for a lifetime. I service Toronto and the surrounding areas. Let me know if you have any questions, I look forward to hearing from you. - Adam |
